016 - How to increase our Life time?
Pranayamas are very powerful breathing exercises which would give a lot of benefits to the practitioner. The unlimited energy that controls the entire Universe is called Prana Energy. This Prana energy enters into our body in the form of Prana when we breath. When we practice Pranayamas ( Controlled breathing), the Prana energy comes under our control. With the practice of Pranayamas we can get a lot of benefits. The two most important benefits we get out of Pranayamas are.. 1. We can increase our life time and 2. The Spritual Kundalini Energy.
Let us see how Pranayamas increase our life time. Yoga Sashtra says our life time is determined based on the number of breathing we do. In every breath we make, there is a breath loss. Yoga Sahstra says the humans breath 15 number of breaths in a minute. Given below is a small calculation on the number of breaths we make per day, per year..etc. As per this calculation if someone who has been privileged for a lifetime of 100 years, would make 788 Million breaths.
When he breaths the 788 Millionth breath, that would be his last breath and he would be dead after that. How he would die is based on his fate but the fact is he cannot live after his last count of breath. Now let us see how Pranayamas help us to increase the life time. When I do pranayamas, I take one breath per minute. If I do Pranayamas for one hr I would have done 60 breaths and would have saved 840 of my breaths. Lets us assume an ideal situation where I keep doing pranayamas for 24 hrs a day and 365 days a year and for 100 years, then I would have done only 53 Million Breaths instead of 788 Million breaths. So I would still have 736 Million breaths left for me in this birth.. right? If I do 53 Million breaths for every 100 years, I can live in this world for another 1,400 Years. Right?
Ok, this ideal situation may not be possible who is with a family, right? So he can try his best to spend as much time as possible for Pranayamas. For example 1 Hr in the morning and 1 hr in the evening and with that he would be able to save 1680 breaths per day. If he is so sincere in practicing the Pranayamas and do it for one year, he would be able to save his life time by almost one month. Right? There is another interesting concept called Vasi Yogam means, If he doesn't involve in any bad activities and if his Sri Guruji is happy with his performance, Sri Guruji would bless him with Vasi Yogam means, he would start breathing with his 'Sulzhi Munai" which is located at the end of our Spine. With that he would be able to intake huge amount of Prana energy and its an automated process. Without his consciousness the Vasi Yogam would keep happening 24*7 for him automatically and would fill him with huge amount of Prana energy. When he is filled with a lots and lots of Prana energy there is no limit for his life time and he would have almost equal to the power of God. All the Natural elements would be like a slave to him and would obey his order. What is the proof for this? Given below is a comparison table of life time expectancy of various living beings and their breathing calculation.
If we look at the table and the graph it would be clearly evident that No. of breathing and the life time expectancy is inversely proportional. A living being which breaths 2 times in a minute (Toad) has the life time expectancy of 2000 years. The other living being birds like Pigeon and Hen which breaths as high as 40 times in a minute have the life time expectancy of 3 Years. I request the scientific world to validate the data of number of breathing and the life time expectancy of these living beings. Probably the scientific world can compare this data for other living beings and confirm/conclude whether the findings of our great ancient Saints/Yogis is correct or not. Here comes one interesting question. Without any advanced instruments/labs, how did they find out these facts million and million of years back? Now let us see What our greatest of great saints Sri Thirumoolar says about breathing and pranayamas in his Tamil verse called Thirumanthiram.
Another important fact that we need to know about our breathing is breath loss. Have we ever calculated the volume of breath we intake and leave out? Yoga Sahstra has done this and as per Yoga Sahstra, In every breath, We intake 8 Cubic Inches of air and we leave out 12 Cubic inches of air. So in every breath we lose 4 Cubic inches of air which is a big loss for us. This is during normal condition. When we are engaged in any sports, we intake 27 Cubic inches of air and leave out 54 Cubic inches of air and we loss 27 cubic inches of air. When we engage in Sex, we intake 24 Cubic inches of air and leave out 64 Cubic inches of air and we lose 40 cubic inches of air in every breath. Sri Thirumoolar in his Thrumanthiram has written 13 Tamil verses about Pranayama and Breathing and in the below verse he talks about the breathing loss.
Do we now realize the importance of Pranayamas and Why we should do as much Pranayamas as possible in our life..? Do we realize Why we should convert as much of 24 hrs of a day into Pranayama hours..? What I have given in this page is just one benefit of doing Pranayamas. There are other N number of benefits we can get from Pranayamas. Also there are advanced Pranayamas which would take 2 to 3 minutes to complete one Pranayama. Just imagine the amount of benefit we would get with such advanced Pranayamas. But pl remember we should make our body ready in such a way that it could accept that type of pranayamas and for that we need to make sure we practice Yoga asanas daily. Thats why my beloved Sri Guruji Srila Sri Gnana Joadhi Sampangi Swamigal used to say, If we do Yoga asanas, our body would be strengthened and if we do Pranayamas our life gets strengthened and we can extend our life time. In addition to Yoga asanas and Pranayamas, there is one more Brhammasthra for human being which is Meditation. With all these three, is it difficult for Man and Woman to become God and Goddess?
